This year saw the birth of Collisions, a supergroup comprising neo-classical composer Tom Hodge, post-rock composer Ciaran Morahan and jazz composer and drummer Ollie Howell, all three accomplished and exceptional musicians and composers in their own right, with an already expansive experimental practice. Their joint musical venture yielded its first fruits in September with the release of a majestic, immersive, and cinematic self-titled debut album that hooked us at first listen. So we're over the moon to unfold the absolutely amazing and awe-inspiring mixtape they assembled for us reflecting some of their extraordinary influences.

Sourcing musical inspiration from far corners of the globe, Dijf Sanders creates rich compositions that embrace various cultures and genres. For his recent album, the ecstatic and exotic Puja, the Ghent based multi-instrumentalist and composer travelled to Nepal to absorb its sounds and compile field recordings. With a new month comes a new guest mixtape, this time from Brighton's quintet Calico. The band, a set of incredible musicians complementing each other perfectly, bring together an extensive range of musical genres to create a unique and exhilarating sound. Their intricate compositions incorporate elements of jazz, electronica, folk, math-rock and classical to name a few. And reflecting this healthy eclecticness, the mix they've compiled for us is a gift that keeps on giving, filled to the brim with incredible picks.

When we first posted about the imaginative and enchantingly talented British composer and musician Poppy Ackroyd, we never dreamt she would one day get involved with our monthly mixtape. Since then, she released an outstanding debut album, Escapement, where she explores and experiments with the piano and the violin, mirroring her intricate relationship with the two instruments. Also, our dream came true and this month she picked and mixed seventeen stunning tracks, for your ears to indulge on.
