New cut from Clark’s forthcoming album Iradelphic

Clark

Clark‘s sixth full-length album Iradelphic is due out in less than a month. Following first singles ‘Com Touch’ and ‘The Pining pt2’, ‘Secret’ is the third cut from the album to emerge. The new track features the sweet and hazy vocals of Martina Topley-Bird and is by far the most acoustic effort from the electronic veteran producer..

Here’s what Clark said about his collaboration with Martina:

“I’ve wanted to get Martina on a track for a while now, but really wanted a proper hook/melody and set of lyrics for her to sing, rather then doing that cliché producer thing of going ‘sexy female vocals chopped up over fat masculine beats,’. I mean, there is nothing wrong with that, but you can’t use someone of Martina’s awesome talent flippantly. I didn’t want it to be decorative. I wanted it to be her and me, together on something.”

Recorded in Australia, Berlin, Wales, Brussels, Cornwall, Norway and London, Iradelphic drops on April 2nd in the UK and a day later in the US via Warp Records. Pre-order is now available here.

Now it’s ‘Secret’ time.

Last time we heard from Clark,  he released Totem Flare. That was back in 2009.

For the last three years he’s been travelling and recording his  sixth full-length album entitled Iradelphic.
The forthcoming album was recorded in Australia, Berlin, Wales, Brussels, Cornwall, Norway and London.

“I don’t think I’ve ever recorded in so many diverse locations; there was a lot of field recording going on in Snape, Sussex, harpsichords and orchestral drums. All recorded with a variety of tools. From £8k Cold War microphones, bling studio set ups, to laptop microphones, crumbling cassettes, Dictaphones. It all got used.” says Clark about his adventures that led to the album. The electronic genius describes Iradelphic as “looming, ambiguous, radiant, glowing, whole, invincible, complete”.

The album includes collaborations with Bibio and Martina Topley Bird who sings in two tracks featured in Iradelphic.

Iradelphic is due out on April 2nd in the UK and a day later in the US via Warp.
