Deerhoof & Marc Ribot’s Ceramic Dog Split 7″ out on Record Store Day

Deerhoof & Marc Ribot’s Ceramic Dog

Record Store Day is less than a month away and news of exclusive releases have been steadily coming through. The latest to get our attention, and one we hope to grab on April 19th, is the Deerhoof & Marc Ribot‘s Ceramic Dog Split 7″ featuring two tracks, ‘Who Sleeps, Only Dreams’ and ‘Hide With Me’. The first single has surfaced the web and you can listen to it below.

Deerhoof drop new EP and video

Deerhoof released their eleventh studio album, Breakup Song, early in September via ATP Recordings and Polyvinyl. Fresh on the heels of that release, they have just started a European tour. Head over here to check all their stops.

Coinciding with the tour, the quartet have a new double A-side EP, ‘Mario’s Flaming Whiskers III’ / ‘There’s That Grin’. The EP is out today digitally, and a limited tape edition arrives on December 3rd via ATP Recordings.
Other than the two excellent tracks lifted from Breakup Song, the EP features a brand new track called ‘Just For That’, a live cover of Velvet Underground’s ‘All Tomorrow’s Parties’ and a Silver Apples remix of ‘Mario’s Flaming Dessert’.

Deerhoof are also offering a fittingly festive and mad video to compliment ‘Mario’s Flaming Whiskers III’. Richard Huntington Swanson directed it and you can watch it below.

Famous Class drops split 7″ from Deerhoof and Half Waif

Famous Class drops today the fourth instalment of their Less Artists More Condos 7″ series featuring a split release from Deerhoof and Half Waif.

Deerhoof contributed with the new song  ‘Sexy, But Sparkly’, recorded as part of the Masters From Their Day video series with producer Chris Shaw (Super Furry Animals, Nada Surf, Leonard Cohen).

Listen to both ‘Sexy, But Sparkly’ and Half Waif’s B-side contribution ‘Black Mountains’ below.

Deerhoof drop first full track from upcoming Breakup Song

When Deerhoof announced the release of their 11th studio album last week, drummer and producer Greg Saunier described it as “a sensational record of Cuban-flavored party-noise-energy music”.
We had only listened to snippets of tracks from Breakup Song via the quartet’s own teasing jukebox, the Jingletron. Now Deerhoof have shared ‘The Trouble With Candyhands’, the first full track off the album, indeed punctuacted by strong Cuban rhythms and their own party pop noise.

Breakup Song will hit stores on September 3rd in Europe via ATP Recordings and a day later in the US via Polyinyl and pre-order is now available.

Now get ready to dance to ‘The Trouble With Candyhands’.

Deerhoof tease Breakup Song with Jingletron widget

Deerhoof announced today the release of a new studio album entitled Breakup Song.
The band’s drummer and producer Greg Saunier described it as “a sensational record of Cuban-flavored party-noise-energy music.”

Breakup Song will be available on LP, CD and digitally and is due out on September 3rd in Europe via ATP Recordings and a day later in the US via Polyvinyl. The album will also be released on a special tape edition, limited to 250 hand-numbered copies on white tapes, via Joyful Noise.

You can now preview the album in their website. Deerhoof are teasing Breakup Song with a jukebox widget called Jingletron, where you can listen to snippets from the songs in the album. All you have to do is insert a token into the Jingletron, and it will play snippets off three tracks, chosen randomly. And yes, you can keep on using the tokens and listen to more new tracks.

Whilst we wait for the first single to drop, here’s ‘I Did Crimes For You’, off their 2011’s album Deerhoof vs Evil.
