Pevin Kinel drops mouth-watering full-length album

Early this year,  Normandie born and London based self-taught multi-instrumentalist Pevin Kinel announced the release of his full-length album Syntactic Sugars.

Pevin first enticed us with the lead single ‘Dusty‘, a great uplifting electronic piece, and followed it with ‘Fake ppl‘, a charming track with layered folksy vocals.

June 5th finally saw the release of his much anticipated new album, spanning thirteen tracks and each sounding stylistically different from the other.
Syntactic Sugars channels many different influences showing Pevin’s huge creativity and diversity. The album, all written, played, recorded and produced by Pevin himself,  is so varied that no matter what you’re into, there is a track on the album that will appeal to your taste.

Head over to his bandcamp to stream the album free and buy it for only a couple of british pounds.

Check out below two tracks from the album, the ominous opening track ‘Master Removers’ and the title track, featuring Campa La Hampa and some frenzied percussion. Enjoy.

Pevin Kinel offers second single and visuals from forthcoming full-length

Back in January, London based multi-instrumentalist Pevin Kinel announced the release of a new full-length album entitled Syntactic Sugars. It follows his 2010 Of Week Constitution and is due out on June 5th.

The extraordinary one-man-orchestra has offered us a further glimpse into his forthcoming album with a brand new song, ‘Fake ppl’, and an alluring video for it made by himself (and Orson, Sidney, Wim, Woody, Luis and some other people who may not exist).

Pevin plays all the instruments (guitar, keyboard, clarinet, voices, set of keys) in ‘Fake PPL’, a track that carries a unique charm.

The video surfaced the web this morning and it’s a goodie. It features footage from films by “some of the best directors in the history of cinema” as Pevin puts it and it aims to “retrace the steps of the default user picture of myspace and facebook as they grow older and start hitting the bottle”.

Here’s the video for ‘Fake ppl’.

Pevin Kinel done and dusted with new album due out in Spring and offers new single

Pevin Kinel - Dusty

Last time we heard from one man orchestra Pevin Kinel, he dropped the album Of Week Constitution as a free download (June 15th 2010).
We have seriously been craving for more since.

The Normandy born, London based self-taught multi-instrumentalist announced today the release of a new album entitled Syntactic Sugars due out this Spring. Details are yet to be confirmed and we’ll keep an eye out.

The first taste from his forthcoming album is the uplifting and all around awesome single ‘Dusty’.
Pevin Kinel describes it like this:

“Dusty is an instrumental I recorded last year. The rhythm section is a short sample from a very famous song by a very famous band (I’ll just say they’re the bee’s knees) mixed with an array of pans and various kitchen utensils. The song tells the story of a bass, a guitar and a synthesiser who wish they had a ping pong table (they get one at the end).”
