Now the Malian diva has unveiled a video to accompany the song, directed by Chris Saunders. The effort was shot in Johannesburg\u2019s Hillbrow area and it features dancer Maipelo Gabang. \u201cOumou\u2019s powerful Wassoulou lyrics needed to be translated through the movement in the video &#8211; to reflect her message of never giving up, of finding mechanisms to succeed&#8221;, explains Saunders. &#8220;The video is a story of an empowered young African woman, one comparable to the great Oumou herself\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Preceding the album&#8217;s release on May 19th via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.noformat.net\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">N\u00f8 F\u00f8rmat!<\/a>, the video comes paired with the <em>Yere Faga Remix<\/em> EP out today with mixes by Natureboy Flako, Marimba, Malik Djoudi and Ghetto Vanessa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Watch the video for \u2018Yere Faga\u2019 below, featuring Tony Allen on drumming duties.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Sg1JqUA5ck4?rel=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Oumou\u2019s originally scheduled show in London&#8217;s Scala on May 16th has now moved to Village Underground on May 17th.
