{"id":1304,"date":"2012-02-03T12:57:54","date_gmt":"2012-02-03T12:57:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/castthedice.org\/?p=1304"},"modified":"2012-12-05T17:23:30","modified_gmt":"2012-12-05T17:23:30","slug":"nedry-drop-new-single-violaceae-and-unveil-official-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/castthedice.org\/?p=1304","title":{"rendered":"Nedry drop new single &#8216;Violaceae&#8217; and unveil official video"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1305\" title=\"Nedry - Violaceae single artwork\" src=\"https:\/\/castthedice.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/nedry-violaceae-single-artwork-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"Nedry - Violaceae single artwork\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/castthedice.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/nedry-violaceae-single-artwork-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/castthedice.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/nedry-violaceae-single-artwork-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/castthedice.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/nedry-violaceae-single-artwork-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/castthedice.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/nedry-violaceae-single-artwork.jpg 1400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nedrymakesmusic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nedry<\/a>, the outfit made up of Matt Parker, Chris Amblin and Ayu Okakita, are releasing the single &#8216;Violaceae&#8217; this Monday March 5th.<br \/>\nA week later their somophore album <em>In a Dim Light<\/em> hits stores via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.monotremerecords.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Monotreme Records<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As previously <a href=\"https:\/\/castthedice.org\/?p=834\" target=\"_blank\">mentioned<\/a>, Nedry offered \u2018Post Six\u2019 and \u2018Float\u2019, two tracks off <em>In a Dim Light<\/em>, back in December.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The digital download of &#8216;Violacea&#8217; includes a new edit of the the track and two remixes by <a href=\"https:\/\/castthedice.org\/?p=691\" target=\"_blank\">Polinski<\/a> and Gazelle Town.<br \/>\nBoth the single and the album can be pre-ordered <a href=\"http:\/\/monotremerecords.limitedpressing.com\/product\/categories\/2627\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The trio unveiled today the official video for &#8216;Violaceae&#8217; made by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dantassell.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dan Tassell<\/a>.<br \/>\nHere&#8217;s what he said about the video:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe original idea was to create a video that explored a dream or a detachment from reality, a self contained world that could be informed by the atmosphere of the track. From an early stage we decided to create something quite stripped back to allow Ayu\u2019s lyrics to take centre stage. Shooting in a studio allowed maximum control over the light and shadow and to explore Ayu\u2019s performance at macro level picking up on subtle facial gestures and movements. The black and white format allowed us to have some fun exploring the relationship between light and dark to reflect the haunting undertone of the track and lyrics.
