\"\"<\/a>There’s a wonderful treat on the way to celebrate the music of Holger Czukay<\/a>, bassist and co-founder of legendary krautrock band Can, who passed away last September. On March 23rd, the day before what would have been Czukay’s 80th birthday, Gr\u00f6nland<\/a> will release Cinema<\/em>, a 5 Vinyl\/CD retrospective box set. Spanning over 5 decades, Cinema<\/em> compiles much of his solo work, collaborations with artists like Brian Eno, Jah Wobble and Karlheinz Stockhausen and also previously unreleased music. The release also comes with a photo booklet, a photo booklet and a DVD of musical slapstick comedy and poetic film ‘Krieg der T\u00f6ne’ (‘War of the Sounds’) which stars Czukay as himself.
\nWhat’s more, the vinyl boxset will include a 7″ vinyl video, an innovative system that allows video footage to be stored on vinyl, featuring the bonkers and magnificent video for Holger ‘Cool In The Pool’ off his 1979 album Movies<\/em>. Watch it now.
