The album sees her exploring rich sonic possibilities through improvisation and her singular, ethereal and immersive loop-based compositions. After recording all of her music on headphones, on <em>Healing Is A Miracle<\/em> she turned to studio monitors, which had been gifted to her by J\u00f3nsi and Alex (Somers). \u201cThe first song I remember making with those was the first song on the album, Inspirit.\u201d she explains, \u201cWhen I added the bass I really felt it in my body, you know, in a way you just wouldn\u2019t with headphones\u2026 it was kind of euphoric and fun&#8221;, she explained. &#8220;I got really excited about making the record in that moment, and I think that really had an impact on the sounds I ended up making.\u201d<br \/>\nA transitional album, Barwick recorded it in the aftermath of her move from New York to Los Angeles, with the help of J\u00f3nsi (Sigur R\u00f3s), Nosaj Thing and Mary Lattimore. <em>Healing Is A Miracle<\/em>, as the title suggests, takes its name from the processes of body healing. &#8220;You cut your hand, it looks pretty bad, and two weeks later it looks like it never happened\u2026 That\u2019s kind of amazing, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The record is set for release on July 10th through <a href=\"https:\/\/ninjatune.net\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ninja Tune<\/a> and Barwick has already shared two moving and mesmerizing singles, &#8216;Inspirit&#8217; and \u2018In Light\u2019 featuring J\u00f3nsi. \u2018In Light\u2019 comes with a gorgeous accompanying video, directed by Joel Kazuo Knoernschild.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aKhIY4Qjaas\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<iframe style=\"border: 0; width: 100%; height: 120px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/album=1770815062\/size=large\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=de270f\/tracklist=false\/artwork=small\/track=973152183\/transparent=true\/\" seamless=\"\"><a href=\"http:\/\/juliannabarwick.bandcamp.com\/album\/healing-is-a-miracle\">Healing Is A Miracle by Julianna Barwick<\/a><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Julianna Barwick is back to soothe and enchant us with Healing Is A Miracle, her first new record in four years, following the release of Will in 2016.
