Chicago experimental rockers volcano!<\/a> have announced the release of their third album entitled Pi\u00f1ata<\/em>. It follows the critically acclaimed 2008’s Paperwork<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the tracks in the new album, volcano!’s guitarist and frontman Aaron With said “they’re mainly based on weird fantasies. Our goal was to tell stories with strange but universal sentiments.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pi\u00f1ata<\/em> is due out on June 12th via The Leaf Label<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The trio first single and title track is now available to download free via their bandcamp<\/a>. volcano! also promised an accompanying video for the single that will represent what it combines: “heavy drums, dance-y synthesizers, and scratchy guitars with lyrical content concerned with spider\/bee\/candy-filled-pi\u00f1atas. ” We’ll be on the lookout for the video.<\/p>\n
