Los Angeles based art rock outfit Liars<\/a> have been teasing a new album for a few months with sound and video snippets posted on their Tumblr<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The trio comprising Angus Andrew, Aaron Hemphill and Julian Gross, have recently announced the title and release date for the album. WIXIW<\/em> will be released on June 4th in Europe and June 5th in the US via Mute<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to the press release, WIXIW<\/em> “saw the band working more collaboratively than on previous recordings, and began when Angus Andrew and Aaron Hemphill moved into an isolated cabin in the mountains to begin writing.”
\nRecorded in Los Angeles and produced by the band and Mute’s Daniel Miller, WIXIW<\/em> “is hard to shake, tough to pin down, and impossible to get out of one\u2019s head even after an initial listen. Simultaneously the most accessible and most challenging release from these iconoclasts, it is both a summation of Liars\u2019 work up to now, and a complete break from anything you\u2019d ever heard the band do previously.”<\/p>\n
