The New York-based musician is one of the instrument&#8217;s most inventive contemporary voices, expanding the expressive possibilities of the kanun.\u00a0 On the upcoming <em>Tarabesque<\/em>, Zreik brings the kanun into conversation with a jazz quartet, a hybrid ensemble and an Arab takht ensemble, creating a rich musical landscape where modal traditions and contemporary harmonic ideas coexist with ease. After introducing the record with the gorgeous and compelling \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/castthedice.org\/?p=32898\">Fields of Figs<\/a>\u2019, Zreik has now shared a second preview in the form of &#8216;Ambivalent&#8217;, another beautiful and engrossing track.
