Great news from Ch\u00fapame el Dedo<\/a> who have just announced the release of a new album titled Nos Vemos El Pr\u00f3ximo A\u00f1o<\/em>. The Bogotano duo of Eblis \u00c1lvarez (Meridian Brothers) and Pedro Ojeda (Romperayo) have spent the better part of the last decade developing their bonkers take on Colombian and Caribbean music, incorporating elements of metal, psychedelia and plenty of humour along the way. On Nos Vemos El Pr\u00f3ximo<\/em> A\u00f1o, salsa takes a more prominent role, alongside warped synths, heavy Caribbean rhythms and the duo\u2019s trademark distorted vocals. Their upcoming album’s “is a high-octane salsa-alt\u00edn exorcism”, as the press release describes. “It\u2019s not your abuela\u2019s dance music; it\u2019s a fever dream\u2014like Waka Waka played at double speed through a frying mixing desk that\u2019s caught fire mid-verse”. There\u2019s a new twist to their irreverent world too, which has long flirted with the occult. Now Ch\u00fapame el Dedo have apparently swapped their old satanic leanings for the mysterious cult of Geobah Witnesses.<\/p>\n

Out on October 30th through Keroxen<\/a>, Nos Vemos El Pr\u00f3ximo A\u00f1o<\/em> is preceded by the title track, giving us the first taste of what Ch\u00fapame el Dedo have been up to. Take a listen below.<\/p>\n
