\"\"There\u2019s an exciting new collaboration on the way from Bogot\u00e1\u2019s Conjunto Media Luna<\/a> and Puebla\u2019s Turbo Sonidero<\/a>, who have joined forces for a new 7-inch on Les Disques Bongo Joe<\/a>. Both projects have been exploring the possibilities of contemporary cumbia from different perspectives, bringing together Bogot\u00e1\u2019s experimental music scene and Mexico\u2019s vibrant sonidero culture, rooted in sound systems, record collecting and neighbourhood parties.\u00a0The two-track release features \u2018Kumbia Temor\u2019 on the A-side and \u2018Kumbia Bogot\u00e1\u2019 on the flip, and it marks the beginning of a larger collaboration between the two outfits, with a forthcoming album also in the works.<\/p>\n

The 7-inch lands on November 6th, but we can already listen to \u2018Kumbia Temor\u2019 ahead of the release. The track mirrors the anxieties of our times, bringing a darker and dystopian edge to cumbia. But as the press release describes, “beneath this atmosphere of tension lies an invitation to keep moving, making noise and dancing despite everything.” Take a listen below.<\/p>\n
