Vantdraught<\/em>, a series of projects of modern classical music, is the latest effort Polish pianist and composer Kuba Kapsa<\/a> has been working on. Comes April, Kapsa will release the first part of it, Vantdraught 10 Vol.1<\/em>, via Denovali<\/a>. Drawing inspiration from classical minimalists and early 20th century composers, Vantdraught<\/em> 10 was written for ten classical instruments – 4 violins, 2 violas, cello, vibraphone, marimba and piano, and recorded at the concert studios of Radio Gdansk with musicians from Polish ensembles like Neoquartet and Kwartludium.<\/p>\n

“Vibraphone, piano and marimba are written in a \u201cpush-pull\u201d combination, being the rhythmical base for every piece,”, explains the press release, “while strings are instantly \u201cquestioning and answering\u201d each other whether being supportive to the rhythm or used for the presentation of themes.”.<\/p>\n

Kapsa is offering a first taste ahead of the album’s release, the magically vibrant and absorving ‘No. 4’. Here it is.<\/p>\n
