We are counting the days until the release of Holy Fuck‘s highly anticipated new album, Congrats. The Canadian quartet are keeping us excited and they have just shared a kaleidoscopic video to accompany the mind-blowing single ‘Xed Eyes’, directed and animated by Chad VanGaalen. Watch it below and make sure you grab Congrats when it drops on May 27th via Innovative Leisure and Last Gang.
We’re beyond excited about Holy Fuck‘s upcoming album and we haven’t really been shy about it since they’ve announced it in February. Congrats, the follow-up to 2010’s Latin, is their first album in six years and it arrives on May 27th via Innovative Leisure and Last Gang.
The Canadian quartet had previously shared the mighty and blistering lead single,‘Tom Tom’, and now they’re offering a video for it. Shot in Romania, the effort was directed by Michael Leblanc, who had this to say about it:
“Brian and I decided to shoot the video in Romania so we could cast authentic people in a unfamiliar setting. I wanted to shoot most of the scenes when the sky was just about to fade and use as much natural light as possible. This helped with the surreal style I was trying to create. Though…we did end up using a few lights and a homemade dolly we built in Romania with wheels I ordered from the US.
I was lucky to have my Romanian friend Miruna Soiu who helped produce/translate and her husband Ian Mcgettigan who’s one of my best friends who helped with all things including being the dolly grip and doing most of the driving. Myself, the two of them and my girlfriend Erika Lobko who’s a local set designer from Toronto flew over. There we found our two main characters and now friends Marius Staicu senior and his son Marius. They were perfect in every way. Everything I had hoped for and way more really. Casting was really fun as we just walked around Zarnesti and asked people if they’d like to be in a music video. We shot most of the video in Sirnia a small village near Brasov where both Ian and Miruna had once stayed. It was through their contacts that we were able to do this video. Without them and Erika who ended up operating on many shots the video would have never been made. Miruna’s wonderful Aunt Iona cooked us traditional Romanian meals every day and woke up really early every morning and lit the heaters to make sure we were warm and cozy.”
As you may have noticed, we’re more than thrilled about the upcoming release of Congrats, Holy Fuck‘s first full-length album since 2010’s Latin. The Canadian 4-piece already got us salivating with the mighty first single ‘Tom Tom‘ and a couple of explosive video teasers. The album is described “as the moment when Holy Fuck take the chaos and craziness (and charm) that have always been at the heart of their band and not so much control it as concentrate it”. The press release adds that “now they’re heavier, wilder, leaner, sharper, more daring and more unpredictable than ever before”.
Congrats arrives on May 27th via Innovative Leisure and Last Gang. Ahead of it, Holy Fuck have shared another mind blowing track, ‘Xed Eyes’. Turn your speakers up, this is an absolute stormer of a tune.
In other related news, and in support of Congrats, Holy Fuck will embark on a North American tour in June and July. We’re keeping our fingers (and toes) crossed for a European/UK tour to follow.
Rejoice, for Holy Fuck are officially back with their first album in six years! Following their two short and explosive video teasers for a new album, the four-piece have now confirmed its release. Congrats will see the light of day on May 27th via Innovative Leisure and Last Gang.
“When you’re sitting still in a van and staring out the windows, you start to dream about all the other things you want to do”, said the band’s Brian Borcherdt. “This album is exactly what we couldn’t do then.”
The good news come paired with the first mighty cut off Congrats, ‘Tom Tom’. This track is fire from start to finish and we can’t wait to hear more. Listen to it below.
Holy Fuck‘s new album has been a long time coming and we couldn’t be more excited to hear about its arrival. Following their 2010’s ace album Latin, the Canadian outfit released a 7″ single a couple of years ago featuring the storming B-side ‘Sabbatics’, and we’ve been itching with anticipation for a new album ever since. Just before Christmas, Holy Fuck shared a teaser video for their upcoming album and they’ve just dropped another teaser, both clocking in at around fifteen explosive seconds. Entitled Congrats, the album is set to be released this Spring via Innovative Leisure Records and we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more details. Take a look at the teasers below.
This morning I woke up to the news I’d been waiting to hear for a very long time – Canadian outfit Holy Fuck are releasing new music. Coinciding with their upcoming Australian tour, they’ve announced the release of a new single, slated for a April 24th release via Mistletone as a limited edition tour 7”. The single is yet to be unveiled but they are already making us shake and salivate for more with the storming B-side ‘Sabbatics’, their first new track in four years.
