We haven’t heard of Oakland based ensemble DRMS (pronounced Dreams) before today and we clearly had been missing out. Originally formed by keyboard player Rob Shelton and singer Emily Ritz, their current line-up also includes Mark Clifford, Ross McIntire and Carly Bond. With an eponymous debut album under their belt, DRMS’ sound amalgamates a multitude of genres and influences, from soul jazz and psychedelic pop to rock and folk, into astonishing and intricate compositions.
They have just released a short film entiled American 707 and its accompanying music suite. Filmed in the deserts of Eastern California, the film was made by DRMS and Elia Vargas. Feast your eyes on American 707 below and head over to DRMS’ bandcamp to grab the soundtrack.
