Hot on the heels of the second single release, ‘FF Bada‘, last week, Battles just shared an accompanying video for the entrancing track ‘The Yabba‘, the first single off their upcoming album. Directed by Roger Guàrdia, the press release describes it as “a mesmerising study of the cyclical nature of order and chaos”. See for yourself below.
La Di Da Di is out on September 18th via Warp.

Bristolian quartet Get The Blessing landed one of our favourite albums of 2014 with their fourth album Lope & Antilope. So we’re excited to know they are ready to unveil its follow-up, Astronautilus. Dedicated to the late Ornette Coleman, the album “was literally composed between crashing waves and deserted estuary sands”, says the press release, “producing an album of pounding rhythms, spacious atmospheres and strongly-crafted melodies – plus, of course, the unpredictability and musical mischievousness that have made the band so exciting and successful.”
Astronautilus is due out on October 2nd via Naim Jazz Records and Get The Blessing have already allured us with the awesome single ‘Monkfish’. Reportedly, the track is “simultaneously inspired by Thelonius Monk, a pair of Deamer’s shoes and of course, the fish”. Here it is.

With just over a month to go until Naytronix’s second album Mister Divine is released, the trio helmed by multi-instrumentalist and producer Nate Brenner has shared a second teaser in the form of ‘Back In Time’. The album’s title track, shared earlier this summer, got us salivating for this release. ‘Back In Time’ has just whet our appetite even more. As the titles suggests, the song reflects on the past. Nate explained:
“This song’s about reminiscing about the ‘good old days’. Wanting to go back to a simpler time, but of course you can’t turn back the clock… and maybe it’s wasn’t so simple then either? I wanted the song to have a relaxed feel to it but with a nice forward moving pulse.”
In support of their upcoming record, Naytronix will be embarking on a European tour this Autumn, including a show in London at The Shacklewell Arms on November 28th. The band will also perform a handful of shows in the US in October.
Now listen to ‘Back In Time’ and watch out for the release of Mister Divine on October 16th via City Slang.

Last month Battles shared the monumental first single ‘The Yabba’, from their upcoming third album La Di Da Di. With just a couple of weeks to go until its release, anticipation is rising even more with ‘FF Bada’, another amazing track now available to stream. Listen to it now and watch out for the album release on September 18th via Warp.

We had already heard ‘The Beast Lives In The Same Place’, the first single lifted from Corrina Repp‘s first solo album in nearly ten years, The Pattern of Electricity. Hot on the heels of its release, the Portland based singer/multi-instrumentalist has unveiled a video to accompany another wonderful track from the album, ‘Woods’.
In support of the album, which is out now in Europe via Discolexique and in North America via Caldo Verde, Corrina has announced a European tour, starting with a show at Incubate Festival in Tilburg, Netherlands on September 19th. Head over here to check all her stops and other info. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for news of a show in London to emerge.
