Following last year’s debut album, Hollow Ponds, Astronauts is gearing up to release his second album End Codes. Preceding the album release in April, Dan Carney, the man behind the project, has just released a new single called ‘Civil Engineer’. As the press release puts it, the track “showcases the kind of cascading bleepy loveliness for which Dan has become very slightly known, and demonstrates that brain-burrowing pop hooks and originality can sometimes be more than mere acquaintances.”
The single is now available through Lo Recordings, and it comes with remixes from Bit Cloudy and Kieran Mahon. ‘Civil Engineer’ also comes with a video accompaniment, made by Manana Films. Watch it below.

Listen to Bibio’s new song ‘Town & Country’ off upcoming album A Mineral Love
With his seventh album nearing release date, Bibio has shared another wonderful and radiant song from A Mineral Love called ‘Town & Country’. Stephen Wilkinson aka Bibio had already teased his forthcoming album with the beautiful ‘Petals’ and the soulful and groovy ‘Feeling‘. Here’s what Bibio said in a statement about the song and his move to the countryside:
“When I lived in North London between 1999-2003 I found my feet as an artist and came up with the name Bibio. It was also by my second year in London that I knew I wanted to be in the countryside, far away from the big city. My dream was always an old country cottage with an outbuilding I could turn into a studio, the cherry on the cake would be to get a drum kit in there. That dream has now come true and my first ever drum kit is featured in this song. I wrote the drum parts but got my good friend Rob Lee to play them as he is an accomplished drummer with solid timing, it also gave me freedom to work on the miking and the overall sound of the drums as he performed. Rob also added nuances and flair that only an experienced drummer could bring to the mix. It’s a song about struggle, endurance, fantasy, longing, acceptance and appreciation. I wanted it to be both uplifting and bittersweet. It’s not necessarily about me, although written from my sympathetic perspective, but I’m sure there will be people out there who will relate to it.”
Listen to ‘Town & Country’ below and grab A Mineral Love when it drops on April 1st through Warp.

Cavern of Anti-Matter tease upcoming album with minimix by The Horrors’ Tom Furse
After a string of tremendous singles, ‘Melody In High Feedback Tones’, ‘Tardis Cymbals’ and ‘liquid gate’, Cavern of Anti-Matter‘s long awaited album void beats/invocation trex is finally coming out this Friday 19th February. The trio’s new effort is gearing up to be one of 2016’s most outstanding releases and as if we weren’t excited enough, we can now hear a spectacular 17-minute album minimix put together by Tom Furse from The Horrors. Here’s what he said about it:
“I jumped at the chance to work with Cavern Of Anti-Matter. Tim Gane’s work has been a primary influence on my music for years and COAM’s new album did not disappoint – an absolute pleasure to listen to from start to finish, total aural delight. Modular patterns and first class electronics intersperse with insistent rhythms that spoke to me instantly, and I was able to condense it down to 17 minutes of non-stop energy which I hope gives you a good idea of what a brilliant album it is.”
Listen to the minimix below. Again and again.
Cavern of Anti-Matter are embarking on a series of live shows later this month to celebrate the release of void beats/invocation trex. Check all their dates below.
