Binker and Moses announce new album Feeding the Machine

The year is starting on a very high note with the just announced new album from London jazz duo Binker and Moses. Entitled Feeding the Machine, the record features honorary third member Max Luthert on tape loops and electronics and was recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios. As the press release describes, the new album sees them “moving their sound into an entirely new dimension that crosses into ambient, minimalism and experimental electronic territories, whilst also nodding to the duo’s roots in riff-heavy free jazz.”

Last month the adventurous saxophone and drums duo shared a new track, ‘Feed Infinite’, which will be on the album, and to get us even more excited, they have just unveiled a new single called ‘Accelerometer Overdose’. Listen to it below and grab the album when it’s out on February 25th through Gearbox Records.

Following the widely acclaimed Journey to the Mountain of Forever, adventurous saxophone and drums duo Binker and Moses are finally ready to satisfy our ears with new music. The duo have today unveiled with a new single called ‘Feed Infinite’, which was recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios and features honorary third member Max Luthert on tape loops and electronics. Speaking about it, Binker Golding commented:

“In order to expand the sound of the saxophone and drums, we decided to ask Max Luthert to assist us on modular. Most of what you hear coming from the modular is actually a re-ordering of acoustic sax and drums.”

Moses Boyd also had this to say about it:

“When the opportunity came up to record it was quite last minute. We had no material planned but just a concept. Really, we took a huge leap of faith and went in the studio empty-handed. The only concept I had was this idea of feeding our Improvisation through these different machines / configurations in the studio.”

‘Feed Infinite’ is out today through Gearbox Records and you can listen to it below.

Binker and Moses’ new live album Escape The Flames out tomorrow

We reach the tail end of the year with a superb release from adventurous saxophone and drums duo Binker and Moses. Entitled Escape The Flames, the 6-track live recording stems from their Journey to the Mountain of Forever album launch at London’s Total Refreshment Centre in 2017, where they offered a whole new interpretation to the album’s first disc. As the press release describes, “the audience’s excitement, a sound-bed of whoops and yells, is heard intermittently throughout and only adds to the incredible vibe – a tonic perhaps to these gig-dry, restricted times.”

Clocking in over 10 minutes, ‘Intoxication From The Jahvmonishi Leaves’ is one of blistering cuts taken from Escape The Flames. Take a listen below and grab the album on Bandcamp.
