Glass Museum share new single, ‘VAN GLAS’ ft. JAZZ BRAK

Glass Museum are gearing up to release their highly anticipated new album, 4N4LOG CITY, on September 19th through Sdban Ultra. This will be the band’s first record as a trio, following the recent addition of bassist Issam Labbene alongside keyboardist Antoine Flipo and drummer Martin Grégoire. The album also features guest appearances from artists like vocalist JDS, Swiss drummer Arthur Hnatek, and rapper JAZZ BRAK, who is a member of the Brussels-based hip-hop collective STIKSTOF and features on the band’s latest single, ‘VAN GLAS’. Built around the phrase “Al wat van glas is breekt” (“everything made of glass breaks”), the song delves into themes of “personal doubts, social expectations, and the search for clarity”, as the press release describes. ‘VAN GLAS’ comes with an accompanying video, shot in 16mm film and directed by Thomas De Hemptinne, and visually complements this narrative, following a bicycle courier on a late-night journey through an empty city. Glass Museum announce new album, 4N4LOG CITY, and share new single ‘Call Me Names’

Back in April, Glass Museum released a brand new track, ‘GATE 1’, their first new music since their album Reflet came out in 2022. The Brussels outfit have now followed up with a second track, ‘Call Me Names’, featuring vocals for the very first time. Weaving themes of breakup, regret, and reconciliation, the new track “explores the void left by another, the difficulty of confronting one’s own mistakes, and the desire to turn back time”, as the press release describes.

Alongside the single, the band have announced their much-anticipated new album. Entitled 4N4LOG CITY, the new record sees the duo of keyboardist Antoine Flipo and drummer Martin Grégoire evolve into a trio with the addition of bassist Issam Labbene. 4N4LOG CITY also brings together a host of guest appearances from vocalist JDS, Swiss drummer Arthur Hnatek and rapper JAZZ BRAK of STIKSTOF.

Like the singles that precede it, the album exudes an atmosphere that mirrors the rhythm of urban life, “captur[ing] the mechanical ebb and flow beneath concrete towers—the anonymous rhythms of daily life moving over the asphalt, and the fleeting, meaningful connections made along the way.”

4N4LOG CITY is set for release on September 19th through Sdban Ultra. Mark your calendars and check out ‘Call Me Names’, offered with an accompanying video directed by Super Tchip, documenting the creation of a graffiti mural in Anderlecht (Brussels), painted by visual artists Manon Brûlé and Nora Juncker. Now part of the streetscape in Anderlecht, the mural echoes ‘Call Me Names’ in form and feeling, a meeting point between music and street art that lingers in the city’s memory. Listen to Glass Museum’s new single ‘GATE 1’

Glass Museum, the Brussels-based duo of keyboardist Antoine Flipo and drummer Martin Grégoire, have unveiled ‘GATE 1’, their first new release since the 2022 album Reflet. The track sprouted from a partnership with producer Arthur Hnatek, who crafted a repetitive electronic loop that became the foundation of the composition. This marks the first time the duo has integrated an external sequence into their creative process, allowing them to explore new sonic territories. Building upon this mechanical base, Glass Museum layered synthesizers, drums, and resonant bass to create a hypnotic atmosphere that mirrors the rhythm of urban life.

‘GATE 1’ is offered with a music video, directed by Brussels-based production company SUPER TCHIP. In line with the track’s theme, the video depicts architectural structures in constant flux that intertwine and merge, reflecting the track’s rhythmic progression. Watch it below.

Listen to Glass Museum’s new single ‘Ellipse’

As Glass Museum prepare to release their much anticipated third album Reflet through Sdban Ultra on April 29th, they now entice us with a new single called ‘Ellipse’. “In geometry, an ellipse is a closed plane curve obtained through the intersection of a turning cone and a plan”, the band explains. “This geometric element is a reference to the mathematical and scientific elements within our music, its electronic dimension and the broader visual concept of our album ‘Reflet’”. Glass Museum set to release third album, Reflet, listen to title track

Belgian instrumental duo Glass Museum have announced the release of Reflet, the follow-up to their phenomenal 2020 album Reykjavik. With an ability to daringly and seamlessly merge classical music with other genres like jazz, breakbeat, minimal techno and deep house, on the upcoming record, keyboardist Antoine Flipo and drummer Martin Grégoire further cement their duality as a foundational element. Reflet, describes the press release, “is an odyssey running through troubled times, an ode to night time, to life, dreams and to all rhythms that convey emotions beyond words.”

The album will be released on April 29th through Sdban Ultra label and ahead of it, Glass Museum have shared the title track as the first single. It comes with a fittingly stunning video directed by Cyprien Delire and you can watch it below.

Watch Glass Museum’s video for new single ‘Clothing’

With the imminent release of Reykjavik this Friday, Belgian instrumental duo Glass Museum are teasing the album with a new cut from it, ‘Clothing’. Speaking about the track, the pair had this to say:

“Clothing was composed as a live remix of our formal track ‘Opening’, the opening piece on our first album “DEUX”. The idea was to give ‘Opening’ another dimension when playing live by accelerating the arpeggiator of the original track and by adding a groovy, downtempo beat on the first part, and secondly to conclude our live performances with a regular techno beat that would give an electronic /dancy sensation. After re-thinking the final result, we decided to give that version its own life in the studio and it became ‘Clothing’, deflecting ‘Closing’ to a tribute to the orange cloth presented on our album cover”.

‘Clothing’ comes with an accompanying video directed by Simon Medard and you can watch it below.

Reykjavik is out on April 24th through Sdban Ultra
