It’s a great summery Friday and Marco Benevento‘s new single ‘At The Show’ is the jiggiest track we could wish for. ‘At The Show’ is the first cut lifted from the crafted multi-instrumentalist’s upcoming album Swift. The album, set for release on September 16th via Royal Potato Family, was produced by Richard Swift (Shins, Damien Jurado, Foxygen) and features Benevento’s frequent collaborators Dave Drewitz on bass (Ween) and Andy Borger on drums (Tom Waits, Norah Jones). With Swift, Benevento ventures into singing for the first time ever, and he wrote the lyrics as well. “I never really liked the sound of my singing voice. I have a low voice. I can’t really sing too high. It’s nasally,” said Benevento. “But I had to get over it. And now, singing is awesome.”
Listen to ‘At The Show’ below, and if you’re in North America, you can even watch the accompanying video, premiered yesterday. We’ll share it as soon as viewing is available in Europe.
