Belgian dub-jazz outfit Kosmo Sound began performing and recording together in 2017, with bassist Mattias Geernaert and drummer Marius Couvreur initially bonding over a mutual and abiding appreciation for dub. Soon after they became a sextet with the addition of guitarists Edmund Lauret and Cyriel Vandenabeele, keyboard player Bos Debusscher and saxophonist Ambroos De Schepper.

They are set to release their second record, Fruit of the Void, on November 25th via Zephyrus Records. To get us excited, they have shared a buoyant and delirious single titled ‘Banoffee Pie’. Speaking about the track, they comment:

“Banoffee Pie came from the influence of toeareg grooves and the power of pentatonic melodies. The track is one big trip that is trying to capture the idea of something tribal, something ‘earthy’ while blending the cosmic sounds of the band itself.”
