Mixtape #48

This month's hand made mixtape comes from Dosh, the incredibly talented multi-instrumentalist from Minneapolis, US. His latest album, Milk Money, was one of CTD's 2013 Album Picks and remains a favourite of ours. Dosh's mind-bending compositions, made up of keys, samples and drums, magically come alive on stage through loop station wizardry. The electronic and hip hop influences that colour his recordings were also guiding his hand when he put his mix together. Enjoy this all vinyl groovy selection.

Dosh teases upcoming new album with first cut ‘We Are The Worst’

Dosh - Milk Money

We couldn’t be more excited about the forthcoming new album from the incredibly talented multi-instrumentalist and loop master Martin Dosh, better known as Dosh. Milk Money, which follows his 2010’s magnificent album Tommy, will see the light of day on October 22nd via Graveface Records.
Milk Money “brims with a warmth that can’t be digitized”, says the blurb that accompanies the record. “It’s the satisfying, immediate thwack of drumstick again drumhead, the visceral pleasure of a grown-up boy at play inside a musical fort.”

Dosh has unveiled the first tremendous taste from the album, ‘We Are The Worst’, and there’s good reason to anticipate Milk Money as a pick of the year. Listen to the track below.

Dosh’s contribution to the Charity Subscription Series

A couple of days ago we reported on the Charity Subscription Series that Graveface Records is putting out. It consists of  twelve 7″ and three 10″ singles from bands and artists like Serengati,  Xiu Xiu, Mount Eerie, Mike Watt, Appleseed Cast, Shearwater and many more.

The first instalment from this series features contributions from Serengati with Tobacco and Advance Base, Mount Eerie and one my favourite artists, the Minneapolis born multi-instrumentalist and loop master Dosh.
His contribution to the series is the utterly amazing ‘From the House of Caesar’, which has just surfaced the web. Dosh chose Building Dignity as the charity to be given most of the proceeds from his 7″.

Listen to ‘ From the House of Caesar’ now.
