Piano Interrupted announce somophore album and share first cut

Piano Interrupted - The Unified Field

In April of this past year, Piano Interrupted saw their debut album Two By Four being re-released. Back then, the London based duo promised to follow it up with a new album later this year and their new effort has just been announced. The Unified Field will see the light of day on October  25th via Denovali.
Taking its name from David Lynch’s book Catching The Big Fish, Piano Interrupted’s upcoming album “draws upon multiple, varied styles and influences”, as the press release describes, “and bring them into one coherent unifying whole with dense arrangements of fragile piano, colourful cinematic soundscapes, organic rhythmic textures and rich, warm strings provoking a diverse range of emotions”.
To whet our appetite further, Piano Interrupted have unveiled The Unified Field‘s first sublime song called ‘Cross Hands’. Listen to it below.

When we first posted about the imaginative and enchantingly talented British composer and musician Poppy Ackroyd, we never dreamt she would one day get involved with our monthly mixtape. Since then, she released an outstanding debut album, Escapement, where she explores and experiments with the piano and the violin, mirroring her intricate relationship with the two instruments. Also, our dream came true and this month she picked and mixed seventeen stunning tracks, for your ears to indulge on.

Piano Interrupted reveal Two By Four re-release date and share ‘Bulbus’

Piano Interrupted

As we mentioned earlier this year, Piano Interrupted‘s debut album Two By Four is being re-released on April 26th via Denovali Records. Mastered in collaboration with Nils Frahm in Berlin, the upcoming release will include six bonus tracks.
Two By Four shows the evolution of Piano Interrupted’s music over the last three years as they turned from a studio duo to a four piece live band comprising Tom Hodge, Franz Kirmann, Eric Young and Greg Hall.
‘Bulbus’ is one of the excellent cuts from the album written originally for Papa Hedi, a documentary film about the life and work of Tunisian legendary singer Hedi Jouni. Listen to it below.
