Mixtape #84

We're very excited to have Oiseaux-Tempête, the French band spearheaded by Frédéric D. Oberland and Stéphane Pigneul, behind the wheel of this month's mixtape. The band's music, strangely beautiful and beautifully strange, explores and experiments with many varied genres. To shed some light on their influences, here's their thrilling mix, about which they had this to say:

"16 tracks which fell off the back of our van during our last Spring tour in France and Belgium with Mondkopf, G.W.Sok, As Human Pattern, Two Or The Dragon & Charbel Haber. Recent discoveries or forever inspirations, hidden covers and rare gems, all the music you need for a perfect highway ambience."

Mixtape #63

June couldn’t have started any better way: on the first of the month came the worldwide release of the entrancing album Dysnomia, where Dawn of Midi effortlessly bridge the chasm between electronic and acoustic. The tremendously talented trio, made up of pianist Amino Belyamani, double bassist Aakaash Israni and drummer Qasim Naqvi, with roots in Morocco, Pakistan and India respectively, also found the time to compile a mixtape for CTD. With their compositions being so heavily informed on wordly sounds, their mix delves deep into their influences and inspirations, racing through a multitude of genres and cultures. Enjoy!

Mixtape #55

The earthy and intense music of Elfin Saddle, with its large melting pot of influences, is as inventive and edgy as warm and emotionally engaging. Co-founded by multi-instrumentalists Emi Honda and Jordan McKenzie, the band's compositions are like delicately crafted invitations to wonderment. Naturally we were delighted when Elfin Saddle agreed to put together our first mixtape of the autumn. And here it is, filled with tracks that will make the summer want to stick around a bit longer.
