Originally from New York, and now based in Nashville, Tennessee, Rob Burger is one of the most creative forces on today’s music scene. Throughout the last two decades, as an incredibly talented multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger, Burger has amassed a body of work that encompasses film scores, founding chamber music collective Tin Hat Trio and various collaborations with artists like John Zorn, Laurie Anderson, Elvis Costello, Rufus Wainwright, Lou Reed, Lucinda Williams, Beth Orton and Iron & Wine, amongst many others. Burger has also made his name as a gifted solo artist and with his sublime new album, Marching With Feathers, arriving later this month, we are stoked to have him put together this beautiful and enthralling mix exploring the myriad influences at play in his music. For his recent album, the ecstatic and exotic Puja, the Ghent based multi-instrumentalist and composer travelled to Nepal to absorb its sounds and compile field recordings. This month’s mixtape comes courtesy of the daring and dazzling all-female multi-instrumentalist chamber music collective Collectress, whose impressive body of work spans an incredibly wide spectrum of artistic expression and myriad multi-arts collaborations. Their beguiling and bewildering compositions first struck us when we heard their 2014 album, Mondegreen. Fluent in both composed contemporary music and free improvisation, they continue to create enchanting and enveloping music with their recently released second album, Different Geographies. So we’re over the moon to have them onboard curating this mix with an exquisite selection of tracks reflecting the many influences that have shaped their own sublime sounds. Avec Le Soleil Sortant De Sa Bouche's 2014 glorious debut album wrapped together two mammoth-length jams into an exhilarating and infectious release. The Montreal based quartet's second outing, which came out earlier this year, is a dazzling experiment in kraut-funk goodness, packed with hypnotic and blistering grooves. And since we can't take our ears off both albums, we just had to ask the band to put together a mixtape for us!

We're very excited to have Oiseaux-Tempête, the French band spearheaded by Frédéric D. Oberland and Stéphane Pigneul, behind the wheel of this month's mixtape. The band's music, strangely beautiful and beautifully strange, explores and experiments with many varied genres. With November comes a wonderful new mixtape lovingly assembled by Sandro Perri. An unrelentingly inventive musician, Perri writes, records, produces, mixes, remixes and masters not only his own work but also other artists. Under the moniker Off World, he just released the first of three volumes collecting unheard collaborative gems with other musicians and producers. Perri's vast and stylistically diverse work encapsulates genres like post-rock, dub, ambient, pop, jazz, folk and dance music among others. So here it is, in all its shining glory, the guest mixtape Sandro Perri created for us. Let it light up your day!
