Here’s a befittingly beautiful video diptych for Saltland‘s ‘ICA’, a track lifted from the stunning debut I Thought It Was Us But It Was All Of Us. The video, created by visual artist Brad Todd, is divided in two frames; one with Rebecca Foon, who leads the project, in an underground train in New York and the other showing the Montréal cityscape filmed from an airplane window during winter. Boasting an eclectic and exceptional roster, Denovali Records has just announced the addition of another gem to their family, Federico Albanese. The Berlin based Italian composer will see his debut album, The Houseboat and the Moon, released in February 2014.
Blending elements of classical music with electronics and psychedelia in his compositions, and influenced by black music, folk, modern and contemporary classical music, Albanese quotes names like Mansell, Satie, Bach, Tiersen, Glass and Morricone as inspirational artists.
The press release describes The Houseboat and the Moon “as a combination of contrasts and colors with a variety of atmospheres that wonderfully represents Federico’s musical universe”.

Finnish self-taught multi-instrumentalist Jaakko Eino Kalevi has just signed to Domino imprint Weird World who will release his new EP Dreamzone. Marrying a multitude of genres and influences, Jaakko’s upcoming EP is “a colourful, magical place where everything happens in its own time and nature and technology get along harmoniously”, as the press release describes.
The Dreamzone EP will see the light of day on December 2nd and pre-order is available now. To get us enticed, Jaakko has shared the first single ‘No End’, a gorgeous track featuring vocal guest Suad Khalifa. Listen to it now.

Leeds based experimental downtempo quartet Fold and London based poet and radio presenter Mr Gee joined forces to craft a dazzling 4-track EP entitled Salvation. The collaborative EP, due out on October 28th, “is an unusual mix of hip-hop, trip-hop and downtempo beats laced with intricate poetic rhythms that have a certain swagger and a strong social conscience”, as they put it themselves.
