UK’s Alexander Tucker and New Zealand’s Daniel Beban make up the experimental psych duo Imbogodon.

The pair is releasing the follow up to 2010’s The Metallic Year.
And They Turned Not When They Went is due out on January 23rd in Europe and January 24th in the rest of the world via Thrill Jockey Records. Pre-order is available now.
Much of And They Turned Not When They Went was recorded at the Bush House (former home of BBC World Service) and inside and outside of old historic buildings at Dungeness in Kent, England.

Teletextile - Reflector

Led by multi instrumentalist Pamela Martinez, Teletextile are a 4-piece outfit hailing from Brooklyn.

Teletextile have recently signed to Luxembourg-based label Lili is Pi and had their first European release with the album Glass (October 14th 2011). Glass features tracks from the Reflector EP (self-released June 1st) and Care Package (released April 17th 2007 via CDBY) and a couple of new extra tracks.

The foursome describe their sound as an “opportunity to entice all the visionaries, escapists, fantasizers, romantics and haters.”

‘I Don’t Know How to Act Here’ is the second track of the Reflector EP and it has just received visual treatment. You can stream the 5-track EP via Teletextile’s bandcamp and watch below the video directed by Oliver Ogden.

Pan & Me announces details of debut album due out in February

Pan+Me PaalPan & Me, the solo project of Christophe Mevel (of The Dale Cooper Quartet), is releasing his debut album entitled Paal on February 24th via Denovali Records.

Although Paal “is rather piano- and electronic-driven and contains field recordings, choir sounds and string elements, the experimental and detail orientated method of operation stays the same” according to the label’s press release.

The album will be available digitally, in CD and LP formats. Pre-order is not available yet but you can check it here later.

Tropics self-releases Nautical Clamour

Tropics - Nautical ClamourTropics is Chris Ward, a British multi-instrumentalist and producer who released his debut album Parodia Flare last year (September 27th 2011) via Planet Mu.

The young musician has a new album featuring new compositions, b-sides and other unreleased and remixed tracks. The new album entiled Nautical Clamour was self-released last Tuesday January 3rd. Check Tropics’ bandcamp to get your hands on Nautical Clamour.

Errors tease again with a free track to download ahead of new album

Errors - Have Some Faith In Magic

Scottish quartet Errors are releasing their much anticipated third full-length album. Have Some Faith In Magic drops on January 30th via Rock Action Records.
‘Magna Encarta’, the second track from the forthcoming album, had already been released last April with a shiny video embedded below.
‘Pleasure Palaces’ is the new single due out on January 23rd as a 500 limited 7″. The single release includes the exclusive b-side ‘Auberchute Flyer’. You can pre-order it now here.

Errors are giving us another taste from the new album with ‘Earthscore’, a new track that comes as a free download via their website.

Have Some Faith in Magic includes vocals for the first time. The 4 piece had already included voices using vocoders in their How Clean Is Your Acid House? EP back in 2006.  This is though the first time they are treating vocals like another instrument.

To coincide with album release, Errors will do a full tour of the UK in February. Check all the dates here.

Air unveil official video for new track from forthcoming album

Air - La Voyage Dans La LuneFrench duo Air had announced last November the release of their 7th studio album entitled Le Voyage Dans La Lune.
Air were originally commissioned to compose an original soundtrack to the recently restored and colourised 1902 iconic silent film ‘Le Voyage Dans La Lune’ by French filmmaker George Méliès.

Le Voyage Dans La Lune which translates to A Trip To The Moon is an acclaimed film based on the popular novels ‘From the Earth to the Moon’ by Jules Verne and ‘The First Men In The Moon’ by H. G. Wells. The 16-minute film was the first to feature science fiction as a theme.

The soundtrack to the short film turned into a full length album and it will be out on February 6th in Europe and February 7th in the rest of the world via Astralwerks.

Le Voyage Dans La Lune features vocal collaborators Victoria Legrand of Beach House and Au Revoir Simone.

Seven Stars (featuring Victoria Legrand) was the first single to be released last December.

Air unveiled yesterday the official video for another new track entitled ‘Sonic Armada (A Trip To The Moon)’. It features clips from the restored and colourised film and you can watch it here.
