Julianna Barwick’s third album, Will, arrives next month

Julianna Barwick - NebulaBrooklyn based experimental artist Julianna Barwick has a new album on the way called Will, which follows her celestial 2013’s Nepenthe. Busy with touring and projects all over the place, Barwick worked and conceived the album in many different locations, from New York to Asheville, North Carolina, to Lisbon, Portugal. “I love touring, but it can be a wild ride”, said Barwick. “You’re constantly adjusting, assimilating, and finding yourself in life-changing situations.”

The self-produced Will also sees Barwick bringing in guest collaborators, including Mas Ysa’s Thomas Arsenault, Dutch cellist Maarten Vos and percussionist Jamie Ingalls (Chairlift, Tanlines, Beverly).

Ahead of the album’s release on May 6th via Dead Oceans, Barwick has shared the gorgeous and dreamy single ‘Nebula’ and it comes with a video directed by Derrick Belcham. Watch it below.

Brandon Locher shares new single ’Medium Frequency’

Mazes to the Motherlode L by Brandon LocherBeautifully moving from start to finish, ‘Medium Frequency’ is the delicate yet powerful brand new track from Brandon Locher. The New York based multimedia artist and producer caught our ears a while back, with his work in other collaborative projects including The Meets and Stage Hands, and we’re pleased to see him following his very own solo path.
‘Medium Frequency’ starts out quietly, wrapped in mystique and delicacy, before blossoming into an ecstatic affair. Blending ethereal electronics with frenetic horns and gentle strings, the track cycles from moments of otherworldly beauty to ecstatic exuberance, and back again.
Locher’s new single also displays his versatile talent as a visual artist, with the stunning cover artwork having been drawn by him.
There’s more to come, according to him, and we’ll keep an eye out. Now listen to ‘Medium Frequency’.

Later this month, London based collective Melt Yourself Down will drop their second studio album Last Evenings On Earth. Slated for an April 29th release via The Leaf Label, it follows their widely acclaimed 2013 self-titled debut album.
Described as an apocalyptic album, Last Evenings On Earth is darker and even more powerful than their debut. “The need to dance is still there but now I’m feeling inspired by the idea of the city as a prism through which all kinds of global influences pass,” says the band’s founding member Pete Wareham. “Translation, immigration, overcoming obstacles – and most of all, human unity.”

The thunderous ‘The God Of You’ is one of singles extracted from the upcoming album and Melt Yourself Down have shared a video for it. Check it out below.

To celebrate the release of Last Evenings On Earth, Melt Yourself Down are playing a string of shows in the UK. Check all their dates below.
