Dan Deacon announces new album and offers first single

Baltimore electronic maestro Dan Deacon has just announced the release of his new album America. It follows his 2009’s Bromst and is due out on August 27th in Europe and a day later in North America via Domino.

According to the issued press release, America “demonstrates anger, confusion, and apocalyptic anxiety over corporatism and war, but finds consolation in the geography of the United States and in recent social movements both domestic and international.”

The album reflects Deacon’s recent experiences with classical music, commissioned work and collaborations, including his first film score for a Francis Ford Coppola film.

‘Lots’ is the first single lifted from ‘America’, a mighty first taste that will leave you wanting more. You can listen to ‘Lots’ below and download it free here.

She was given an acoustic guitar a few years ago and being left-handed, Joanna learnt to play the right-handed guitar upside down with her left hand.

Imaginary Family’s first single, ‘The Bird Watcher’, is available to download free for a short period of time. The song comes with an animated video, as lovely and dreamy as the song. Enjoy it.

Liars share second taste off upcoming album WIXIW

WIXIW is read ‘wish you’ and singer guitarist Angus Andrew talking about the album title said “’wish you’ is a familiar and universal sentiment of longing and hope, but when misspelt becomes uniquely shrouded and difficult to interpret, which in many ways is representative of our music and the songs we wrote for this album”.

The first single ‘Number One Against The Rush’ will be released as a limited 12″ vinyl signed by the band this Monday May 28th. The single features remixes by Matmos and Vince Clarke and the exclusive b-side ‘We’ll Never Learn’.

WIXIW drops on June 4th in Europe and a day later in the US via Mute. Now get ready for the hypnotic and fierce new cut ‘Octagon’.
