Pevin Kinel unleashes double A-side single SEO Your Friends

Pevin Kinel - SEO Your FriendsLast week, without any announcement, Pevin Kinel unveiled a double A-side single entitled SEO Your Friends, featuring ‘Fifteen’ and ‘In a Way you would Care’. It follows his outstanding 2012’s Syntactic Sugars, which was one of our Album Picks of the Year.
The London based multi-instrumentalist and one-man-orchestra, got us used to expect anything from him, with his flair for experimenting and exploring an immensity of musical territories. With SEO Your Friends, Pevin delivers again a fascinating and unique project crafted with a strong social conscience. Other than the excellent two singles, SEO Your Friends comes laced with a heartfelt and moving short speech by Leslie Pickering, the former spokesperson for the Earth Liberation Front Press Office. The speech was extracted from the film Testify by Michael Becker and Stephen Gamboa.

“You would do anything for the people you love. That’s why the couple of songs I’m releasing today come in a neat wrapping entitled “SEO Your Friends”. tUnE-yArDs announces new album Nikki Nack, teases it with Megamix

To coincide with her birthday today, tUnE-yArDs‘ Merrill Garbus has shared other news well worth celebrating – the band’s third full-length album entitled Nikki Nack. It follows tUnE-yArDs’ outstanding and widely acclaimed 2011’s W H O K I L L and it will hit stores on May 6th via 4AD.
To spice things up, Garbus is offering a taste of Nikki Nack in the form of a two-and-a-half-minute mash-up, the ‘Nikki Nack MegaMix’, featuring several songs from the album.

In other related jubilant news, and in support of the upcoming album, tUnE-yArDs have also announced a number of live dates, both in the US and Europe, with a stop in London on May 12th at Village Underground.

Davidge premieres video for first single ‘Gallant Foxes ‘

Here’s the video that accompanies ‘Gallant Foxes’, the excellent first single from record producer, songwriter, film score composer and musician Davidge aka Neil Davidge’s upcoming debut album, Slo Light.
Over nearly the last two decades, the man has contributed and worked as co-writer and producer on several albums from bands and artists that include Massive Attack, David Bowie, Snoop Dog, Damon Albarn, Primal Scream and Mos Def.
For his debut album, Davidge invited a number of guests to collaborate on different tracks, including ‘Gallant Foxes’ which features vocals from Cate le Bon. Watch the video below and watch out for the album release on March 24th via The End Records.
