Hannah Georgas set to release eponymous album in the UK, offers free single

Hannah Georgas - Hannah Georgas

Hannah Georgas‘ self-titled full-length album came out to wide acclaim at the end of last year in her native Canada. Now the follow-up to her 2010’s This Is Good in April is also being released in the UK on October 21st via Dine Alone Records.
The Vancouver-based electronic pop singer-songwriter recruited Graham Walsh, a co-founding member of Canadian electronic outfit Holy Fuck, to assist in recording and production duties. “We wanted to make a record where these sounds could come to life and be recreated in a live setting” said Hannah. “I came to Graham with my guitar, and he brought his OP-1, Moog, other synths and pedals, and we jammed, sitting in a room together for almost 3 weeks doing pre-production. Graham was like a scientist, creating incredible sounds on his instruments”.
‘Somebody’ is the second track off Hannah Georgas, a beautiful cut now being offered as a free download. Grab yours now and stream the track below.

Nightmares on Wax drops first single from upcoming new album

Nightmares on Wax - Feelin' Good

British legendary electronic composer and producer George Evelyn aka Nightmares on Wax is back with a brand new album entitled Feelin’ Good, the follow-up to his 2008’s Thought So….
Nightmares on Wax was one of the first acts signed to Warp over 20 years ago, and the label is again releasing his upcoming album on September 17th.
Feelin’ Good “is about embracing positivity and natural beauty”, as the label points out. It draws influences from funk, soul and reggae and from his life in sunny Ibiza where he’s been based for the last seven years. “I come from the city but sunshine is in my music”, said Evelyn. “It was always a natural dream to make music in the sun like I do now. Not to take away from any of my previous music but Feelin’ Good is what I’ve always been trying to do”.
Roaring with a rich orchestration, Feelin’ Good sees Nightmares on Wax enlist precious collaborators including Jazzanova arranger Sebastian Studnitzky, Robin Taylor-Firth, jazz percussionist Wolfgang Haffner, folk singer Katy Gray, and ex-Zero 7 singer Moses amongst others.
Nightmares on Wax dropped the first single, ‘Now Is The Time’, a funky and bouncy track to listen to at full blast. Here it is.

Juana Molina returns with new album

Juana Molina - Wed 21

Argentinian multi-talented and inventive artist Juana Molina has not released an album in five long years. This Autumn will see the end of this hiatus as she returns with a new full-length album called Wed 21, the follow up to 2008′s Un Día.
Slated for a October 28th release via Crammed Discs, Wed 21 was composed, performed, recorded and produced by Molina in her studio in Buenos Aires.
Molina, who has on previous albums chosen to be more minimal, using mainly guitars and layers of vocals, this time ventured to enrich Wed 21‘s musical spectrum with the addition of electric guitars, bass, drums and electronics, as the press release notes. “In some of the tracks, Juana comes as close to a pop song format and to a full band sound as she ever did… while some other pieces are sinuous excursions through gamuts of feelings & textures”.

‘Eras’ is the first delightfully jubilant taste to emerge and it’s clear evidence that Wed 21 will be an album to look out for. Listen to ‘Eras’ below.
