Watch the 22-minute video for Dan Deacon’s ‘USA’ suite

Dan Deacon - USA

Dan Deacon‘s latest album, America, culminated with a four-song suite called ‘USA’ and featuring ‘USA I: Is a Monster’, ‘USA II: The Great American Desert’, ‘USA III: Rail”‘ and “USA IV: Manifest’.
Now, and coinciding with the recent release of a new single on the Adult Swim Singles series, Dan Deacon teamed up with director/editor Dave Hughes (Off The Air/Adult Swim) to create an epic 22-minute acompanying video for the entire suite. There’s no excuse to miss Deacon’s monumental suite and this amalgamation of footage including animals, cities, splashes of colours, tightrope walking and loads more. Enjoy.

America is out now via Domino.

Grumbling Fur set to release somophore album Glynnaestra

Grumbling Fur - Glynnaestra

Daniel O’Sullivan and Alexander Tucker first released an album as Grumbling Fur in 2011. Both artists have been collaborating prolifically in the UK experimental underground scene for a long time, O’Sullivan with his project Mothlite and as a member of Guapo, Ulver, and Aethenor (with Sunn O)))’s Stephen O’Malley) and Tucker as a solo artist and with Imbogodom.
Later this month, Grumbling Fur will release their second album and first as a duo. Glynnaestra will see the light of day on July 22nd via Thrill Jockey.
Described as an avant-pop album by the press release, Glynnaestra‘s “structural foundation is built up via an eclectic array of instruments, both acoustic and modified, to pulsating electronic sounds. Add to this mix the pair’s entirely modern shamanistic meta-narratives, and the result is a contemporary psychedelic pop delight.”
‘Dancing Light’ is the first track lifted from Grumbling Fur’s forthcoming album. Listen to it beneath.

Enemy From Space re-releases debut album Abstractions

Enemy From Space - Abstractions

Enemy From Space is the brainchild project of Kelly Shane, better known for his drumming affiliation with several bands and distinct genres like power pop, indie rock, prog punk or Chamber music.
After getting an 8-track reel-to-reel tape recorder in the mid 90’s, and influenced by Krautrock, late 70s/early80s low-budget horror films soundtracks, Joe Meek and the DIY aesthetic of bands like Guided by Voices, Chrome and The Residents, Shane swapped his drums for synthesizers and began doing electronic music.

Last month, Enemy From Space’s debut album Abstractions, originally out in 2002 via Imperial Fuzz, was re-released by Thingmo. The album was remastered and comes with 5 unreleased bonus tracks. You can get it here.
Enemy From Space is working on a new release and we’ll keep our ears peeled for more info.
Here’s ‘Mysteries in Space’ and ‘All Key Hens’, two amazing tracks from Abstractions, the latter being one of the bonus tracks.
