Next week will see the release of Flying Ibex‘s somophore album Habits.
The London based trio, made up of brothers Barnaby and Nathaniel Keen and Dave De Rose, came into existence in 2011 in a commune in south London where they improvised to silent films, theatre pieces and trapeze shows.
Navigating through a wide palette of genres and each member’s own past personal experiences and musical collaborations, “Flying Ibex have progressed through a sea of influences including African tapes, Brazilian Maracatu and analogue gear”, as the press release explains.

Habits drops on June 17th via Bomb Shop, and ahead of it, the threesome have released the excellent lead single ‘You Dared Me’, backed with the colourful and tropical B-side ‘Something Was Cured’. Listen to both below.


Matthew Herbert shares excerpt from ‘Part 2’ off forthcoming album

Matthew HerbertMatthew Herbert‘s new album The End of Silence comes out later this month. As we had previously mentioned, the album was composed entirely around a 10-second field recording from the 2011 conflict in Libya.
Split into three parts, the British electronic composer had already shared an excerpt from ‘Part One’, and now we can listen to an excerpt from ‘Part 2’. Listen to it below and watch out for the album’s release on June 24th via Accidental Records.

Lumerians drop new single ‘Dogon Genesis’

As we had previously mentioned, Oakland’s Lumerians are set to release a new full-length album entitled The High Frontier. The effort arrives on June 10th in Europe and on August 6th in the USA via Partisan Records.
Following the hypnotic first single ‘The Bloom’, and ahead of the album release, the quartet have just dropped the new mesmerizing single, ‘Dongon Genesis’. Listen to it below, accompanied by an animated version of the album’s cover art.

Benin City unveil new video for ‘Faithless’

Earlier this month, Benin City shared the infectious single ‘Faithless’, lifted from their upcoming debut album Fires In The Park.  The London trio have complimented the track with a video shot, edited & directed by Clouded Vision. Watch it below and watch out for the album release on June 10th release via Audio Doughnuts.
