Pevin Kinel done and dusted with new album due out in Spring and offers new single

Pevin Kinel - Dusty

Last time we heard from one man orchestra Pevin Kinel, he dropped the album Of Week Constitution as a free download (June 15th 2010).
We have seriously been craving for more since.

The Normandy born, London based self-taught multi-instrumentalist announced today the release of a new album entitled Syntactic Sugars due out this Spring. Details are yet to be confirmed and we’ll keep an eye out.

The first taste from his forthcoming album is the uplifting and all around awesome single ‘Dusty’.
Pevin Kinel describes it like this:

“Dusty is an instrumental I recorded last year. The rhythm section is a short sample from a very famous song by a very famous band (I’ll just say they’re the bee’s knees) mixed with an array of pans and various kitchen utensils. The song tells the story of a bass, a guitar and a synthesiser who wish they had a ping pong table (they get one at the end).”

Stream it below and grab it free here.

Mouse On Mars end hiatus with new album due out in February

Mouse On Mars - Parastrophics

Avant-garde electronic veterans Mouse on Mars have not released a new album in six long years.
Next month will see the end of their hiatus as they return with their 10th studio album called Parastrophics, the follow up to 2006’s Varcharz.

The duo comprising Jan St Werner and Andi Toma recorded and mixed Parastrophics in Berlin over the last two years. They’ve used their own musical software developed originally for “Paeanumnion”, an orchestral-backed project.

In the words of Mouse On Mars, “Parastrophics is a thriving vision of the other side of experimental music. Discordance turns into pop as Alice in Wonderland bounces her booty to laser bass sounds, the likes of which would make Walt Disney jealously ponder the question, “Why didn’t I think of that?!” Parastrophics is glamorous, funky and deep. No speakers exist that could display all the details of such grand production.”

Parastrophics is due out on February 27th in Europe and a day later in the US via Modeselektor‘s Monkeytown Records.

Listen below to a sneak preview of “Wienuss” and “Syncropticians”, the fourth and sixth track off Parastrophics.
