After sharing the magnificent ‘Parasol Peak‘, wonderfully talented Austrian percussionist and composer Manu Delago is beguiling us again with a beautiful new single, ‘Parasol Woods’. The track is taken from his upcoming album and film Parasol Peak, a giant sonic venture recorded with an ensemble of seven musicians on a mountaineering expedition in the Alps. Along with the new single, Delago has also shared another stunning teaser trailer. Klaus Johann Grobe announce third album Du Bist So Symmetrisch and share lead single ‘Discogedanken’
Swiss duo Klaus Johann Grobe have announced details of their third album, Du Bist So Symmetrisch, set for release on October 26th through Trouble in Mind. Du Bist So Symmetrisch continues in the vein of last year’s Spagat der Liebe, “incorporating the slinky, jazz-fusion-laced grooves populating late night clubs and braiding them together with the band’s own blend of mutant electro-funk”, as the press release explains. “Driven by an organic, metronomic beat aligned with synth, chant-like vocals, and a monstrous funky bass,” it adds, “the music aims towards a certain kind of hypnosis, particularly as the sleeping pill echo-heavy vocals cycle over the locked grooves the pair throw down.”
The first single to be revealed from their forthcoming album is the melancholy-tinged cosmic track ‘Discogedanken’ and it comes with an animated video made by Jonas Baumann. Watch it below.
Listen to Szun Waves’ new single ‘Temple’ off forthcoming album New Hymn To Freedom
Anticipation is growing as we near the release of Szun Waves‘ second album New Hymn To Freedom. Made up of three extraordinary musicians, Laurence Pike, Luke Abbott and Jack Willie, from varied backgrounds, including jazz, classical, electronica, ambient, experimental and club music, Szun Waves crafted and recorded an album of live improvisations, finding inspiration in each other’s experiences and influences. The band had previously shared the phenomenal lead single ‘Constellation’. Ahead of the album’s release on August 31st through The Leaf Label, they are offering another glimpse into their enveloping, immersive and improvisational album with new track ‘Temple’.

Sandro Perri returns with new solo album In Another Life
The always wonderful and inventive Sandro Perri seems to always keep himself busy with a dizzying array of stellar projects. His most recent, under the moniker Off World, is a 3-volume collection featuring collaborative gems with other producers and musicians, with volume 1 and 2 now released and both making it to our Album Picks of 2016 and 2017.
The widely acclaimed Impossible Spaces was the last release under his own name, but rejoice, for Perri is returning to our lives with a new solo album called In Another Life. Described by himself as “an experiment in ‘infinite’ songwriting”, In Another Life opens with the magical and magnificent 24-minute title-track and also features a three-part song cycle with Dan Bejar (Destroyer) and André Ethier (Deadly Snakes) providing lead vocals.
The album arrives on September 14th through Constellation and we can already get under its spell with an excerpt of ‘In Another Life’. Sublimely beautiful and gentle, the song is a “pop mantra for sequenced synth, piano, guitar and voice, progressing sideways rather than forward”, explains the press release. “A relaxed three-chord vamp runs the length of the album’s Side One, peppered with Sandro’s languid, lilting vocal and adorned with continually developing musical details – massaging the listener with the joys of repetition while defying stasis and monotony.” Wrap your ears and heart around ‘In Another Life’ now.
Liars premiere video for new single from 1/1 soundtrack
Liars‘ first original soundtrack, 1/1, is out now digitally and arrives next week in physical formats through Mute. The soundtrack saw singer and guitarist Angus Andrew and Aaron Hemphill work together for a last time, after the release of 2014’s Mess and before Aaron left the band. Liars had previously teased the release with ‘Liquorice’ and ‘No Now Not Your Face’. Now, to get us even more excited, they have shared a video for the ethereal new single ‘Helsingor Lane’, using footage from the film. Jeremy Phillips and Matt Detisch direct.
Matt Calvert shares video for first single ‘12051’
News of the debut solo album from composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Matt Calvert left us raving. The album is called Typewritten and Calvert had previously shared the immensely beautiful first single ‘12051‘. Ahead of the album’s release on September 7th trough Truant, the single has been paired with a music video directed by Josh Renaut. Check it out below.
